A small number of limited edition Sport models are being added to the Alfa Romeo 147 line-up.
Most of them are effectively styling exercises. The basic Sport models, available with either a 1.6-litre petrol engine or a 1.9-litre JTDM turbo diesel, come with 17" five-spoke wheels, satin-effect wing mirrors, a roof spoiler, a chrome exhaust tailpipe, aluminium pedals, sports instrument dials, steering wheel-mounted audio controls and darkened roof lining.
The Sport Q2 is something else again. The Q2 part of its name refers to the limited slip differential, which helps the car cope with the extra power (150bhp) of the 16-valve JTDM turbo diesel. This car also has 17" wheels, lowered sports suspension, black leather sports seats, dual-zone climate control air-conditioning and stainless steel kick plates.
All these cars come in three- or five-door form, and there's a choice of three colours: Alfa Red, Stromboli Grey and Carbonio Black. Supplies of the Sport models will be limited to 450 units, and just 350 examples of the Sport Q2 will be sold.
Prices for the three-door versions are £13,450 for the 1.6 Sport, £14,450 for the 1.9 JTDM Sport and £16,950 for the 1.9 JTDM 16v Sport Q2. Add an extra £500 for the five-door equivalents.
