The Audi R8 Spyder has been awarded MSN Cars Car of the Year Award. Second place was the new Jaguar XJ with third place going to the new four door Aston Martin Rapide.
The latest version of the Audi R8 Spyder 4.2-litre FSI V8, which will be shared with the Coupe, complies with EU5 emissions limits with the help of a new recuperation system that conserves energy during coasting and braking. The Audi R8 Spyder 4.2 FSI Quattro is capable of 0-62mph in just 4.8 seconds and can reach a top speed of 186mph.
Jeremy Hicks, Director of Audi UK said “we set a great deal of store by awards like MSN’s Car of the Year because they genuinely reflect public passion for a car we’re delighted that the Audi R8 in its latest form has inspired so many readers to propel it back up to the hotly contested top spot for 2011.”
The new R8 Spyder 4.2 FSI quattro is now available to order priced at £95,545 OTR for the six-speed manual version and £100,855 for the six-speed R tronic automated manual.
