Renault has welcomed the extension of the Government electric vehicle grant scheme to include vans as the Renault Kangoo Van Z.E. becomes even more affordable with the price dropping to £13,592.

The Renault Kangoo ZE has a 59bhp electric motor mounted in the Kangoos’ nose and the lithium-ion battery pack lives under the rear floor. The size of your load will have an effect on the nominal 100 mile range which will obviously reduce as weight is added. The Renault Kangoo ZE is the type of van that is used for relatively short delivery trips carrying light loads so potentially the range should not be a problem.

Renault is in a prime position to make the most of the widening of the grant scheme and the extension until 2015 as the Kangoo is set to be joined by three electric cars before the autumn of 2012. The five seat Kangoo ZE Maxi Crew will become even more attractively priced with the multipurpose family or business vehicle dropping to £14,952 from £18,592.
