Hummer has launched the H3 to the UK market. Compared with the existing H1 and H2, this is the cheap, economical, low-CO2 Hummer, but compared with most other things it's still a pretty formidable beast.
Built in South Africa, it uses a 244bhp 3.7-litre petrol engine, though biofuel and turbo diesel versions will be added to the range within the next three years. The choice of transmissions is between a five-speed manual and a four-speed automatic, and in each case there's a full-time four-wheel drive system with low-ratio mode.
There are three trim levels, called SE, Adventure and Luxury, and they cost £26,495, £30,495 and £31,495 respectively if you choose the manual gearbox. Automatics cost an extra £1500.
The H3 is on sale at Hummer outlets in Birmingham, London and Manchester, and will become more widely available in the next few months.
