motoring.co.uk has appointed leading automotive industry figure Kevin Gaskell as its first Chairman. Formerly EurotaxGlass’s Chief Executive and UK head of Porsche, BMW and Lamborghini, Gaskell brings with him a wealth of experience from over 22 years in the motoring industry. Gaskell’s most recent role at EurotaxGlass’s has added expertise in motoring e-commerce solutions in the automotive sector to his broad industry experience.
Gaskell will oversee motoring.co.uk in the United Kingdom and aims to build on the success of the website, which recently celebrated the surpassing of 290,000 new and used car listings. In the newly created role of Chairman, Gaskell will work in close collaboration with Richard Mason, Managing Director of the Moneyextra.com Group. As Chairman, Gaskell will combine his extensive automotive industry experience with Richard Mason’s financial services knowledge to ensure continued and significant growth for motoring.co.uk.
Prior to joining motoring.co.uk, Gaskell spent seven years as Chief Executive of the EurotaxGlass’s Group, during which he increased the company’s operating performance by 250%. His role oversaw EurotaxGlass’s operations in thirty countries providing critical decision making information to automotive manufacturers, financial institutions, fleet operators and automotive retailers.

Gaskell joined Porsche Great Britain as Managing Director in 1991 in which he turned a loss making group into Porsche’s most profitable subsidiary. In 1996 he joined BMW and led them to three years of record growth before joining CarsDirect in 2000 as European CEO. Gaskell was recognised in Business Magazine as one of the ‘UK’s top 40 managers under 40’. He was a founder shareholder of epyx Limited a technology business providing e-commerce trading solutions to the automotive sector which won the Orange Business Awards national prize for the best use of technology in business in 2007.
