Lotus is remembering the 1971-73 Elan Sprint and celebrating 40 years since the start of production at Hethel, with a special-edition Exige coupe.
The Exige Sprint comes in two-tone paint: Aspen White on its lower body, Solar Yellow or Persian Blue on its upper body, with a gold stripe and 'Exige Sprint' lettering between.
Just 40 Exige Sprints will be offered in the UK, each coming with a heritage pack to include a certificate signed by Lotus CEO Mike Kimberley and The Lotus Book, by William Taylor.
Standard equipment for the Exige Sprint includes ultra-lightweight alloy wheels, air conditioning, the Sport Pack and Touring Pack (leather seats), plus the Performance Pack, which gives acceleration 0-60mph in four seconds, 0-100mph in ten seconds, and a top speed of 146mph.
There's also unique interior trim with special embroidery and detailing. Prices start from £42,550.
