Lighter greener and more powerful than either the Ferrari 458 or Mercedes SLS the McLaren MP4-12C supercar can accelerate from 0-124 mph in less than ten seconds.
There have been 1600 genuine orders already made for the McLaren MP4-12C; it comes with a seven speed twin clutch gearbox, switchable driving modes, seven inch touch screen, electric diff and F1 type airbrake. The engine is a 3.8 litre twin turbo V8 with 592bhp and a maximum speed of 200 mph.
A million test miles have already been completed on the McLaren MP4-12C and the McLaren organisation is gearing up to sell the first in early 2011 for a price of £175,000. McLaren boss Ron Dennis said “this is not a volume car, this is simply the most exclusive motoring experience money can buy”. Like every McLaren car the McLaren MP4-12C is likely to go up in price rather than down.
