The Mercedes-Benz S-Class using the world’s cleanest diesel technology as standard has been awarded ‘Best Luxury Car’ for the sixth consecutive year at the latest Auto Express New Car Awards.
David George, Marketing Director Mercedes-Benz Passenger Cars collected the award and said “six wins in a row is fantastic, it really demonstrates that the Mercedes-Benz S-Class is the benchmark in its sector on every level. And as well as the Auto Express judges voting for our luxury saloon, S-Class remains a firm favourite among our customers.”
The Mercedes-Benz S-Class has proved itself a leading luxury saloon benchmark for some 30 years, yet it also boasts some of the world’s most advanced harmful emissions-reducing engine technology. The Mercedes-Benz S 350 BlueTEC is now fitted with ECO start/stop as standard making it even more efficient than before. Ten per cent more efficient is the Mercedes-Benz S 350 BlueTEC returning 45.6 mpg on the combined cycle while CO2 emissions have been reduced by 7 per cent to 164 g/km.
The Mercedes-Benz S 350 BlueTEC was the first car to market that already meets EU 6 standards that don’t come into effect in the UK until 2014.
