In January 2011, visits from mobile and tablet devices accounted for 4.9 per cent of the firm’s site visitors. This figure rose to 12.8 per cent in January 2012 and is still growing. The most popular device used for browsing is the iPhone (42 per cent), followed by the iPad (33.5 per cent). Indeed, Apple devices make up a staggering 78 per cent of mobile users on motoring.co.uk, followed by Android users at 16.7 per cent.

We also know that iPad users view 25 percent more pages than iPhone users due to a larger screen size and that non mobile users continue to view more pages than mobile users (45 per cent).
“According to our research, mobile users also like email, with an 800 per cent rise in mobile based visits from CRM activity and a 250 per cent rise in opted in users. Mobile visits directed by search engines have increased by 166 per cent, as more and more people use their mobiles for quick information.”
