Motoring.co.uk's buy safe seller scheme helps consumers purchase vehicles with confidence. Qualifying dealers, or the dealer's group, have each been visited in person by a member of Motoring.co.uk's team. This establishes that the dealer is franchised, has a consumer credit licence, and – if appropriate – is authorised by the Financial Services Authority.

Motorists can find approved dealers by selecting 'new/used cars', then the manufacturer or vehicle type of interest. Then, after selecting a specific model, look for the 'buy safe' logo within the listings. Further reassurance comes in the form of trader specific consumer reviews. Customers with real life experiences are invited to consider the trader's speed of response, the package offered, and whether they would recommend the dealer to a friend.

Finding a reputable dealer is the first step towards sourcing the right vehicle, and contrary to popular belief there are hundreds of reliable traders who simply want to sell honest cars at fair prices. Whereas no independent accreditation can guarantee satisfactory service, the buy safe scheme and customer reviews are a valuable indication of what to expect.
