New BMW & MINI £2,000 Saving If You Trade-In Old Diesel In 2017

BMW Group Emissions Allowance explained including £2,000 saving, eligible purchases and vehicle trade-in requirements

New car emission requirements

The BMW Group Lower Emissions Allowance cuts the cost of your new, low emission, car by £2,000 if you trade-in an old diesel by December 31st 2017. This is on top of others incentives. A fair trade-in price for your existing car, for example. Simply choose any BMW or MINI that emits carbon at the rate of 130g/km (or less).

The BMW Group produces a wide range of environmentally responsible cars to sooth your conscience – and the vast majority meet the 130g/km criteria. Propulsion options include petrol, diesel, electric and hybrid. The manufacturer has the “widest range of low emission vehicles” in the country, it claimed. Your trade-in must:

  • meet Euro 4 emission standards or older (registered prior to January 1st 2011)
  • have a diesel engine
  • have been in your possession at least a year

The BMW i3 is an electric, zero emission, hatchback and among the prospects. Range is 125 miles per-charge which is plenty to go shopping with friends. It has 5 doors and 260-litre boot. The BMW i8 complements it. This envy-educing, performance, hybrid coupé hits 62mph in 4.4 seconds yet emits carbon at a rate of only 49gkm.

The BMW 520D SE Touring is a spacious, prestigious, executive cruiser that impresses in the company car park. Its 2.0-litre, 190PS, diesel engine - that is teamed to 8-speed auto transmission – produces carbon at the rate of 114g/km. Cargo capacity is 570-litres. BMW Group UK Chief Executive Officer, Graeme Grieve, explained: “We know, in the early phases, that people still need some incentive to make the jump to fully electric or plug-in hybrid vehicles - and that is why we are delighted to announce this new allowance.”

He added: “For those who the alternative drivetrains do not suit their lifestyle, we still offer allowance qualifying Euro 6 compliant petrol and diesel engine cars that are cleaner than ever.”
