Citroen have finally revealed their eagerly anticipated third DS model, the Citroen DS5. The five-door hatch is aimed at taking on the Germans at what they do best, Comfort, Refinement, driving experience and innovative technology, something which Citroen seems to have pulled off.
The exterior carries the same striking lines as the DS3, along with a over-sized air intake, a large chrome-finished grille housing and new style LED lights. The rear design carries on these striking but funky looks, with the car standing firmly on a wide track, emphasised twin exhaust pipes built into the rear bumper.
Citroen haven’t stopped there though, the equally charismatic inside matches the exterior styling, with red and white ambient lighting, and coupe style driving position. The driver focused cockpit features a mixture of buttons, toggles, switches and scroll wheels, along with a colour head-up display which projects essential information into the drivers line of sight. The coupe style driving position has a near vertical steering wheel, with leather upholstery and a wide centre console.
The DS5 is the first Citroen to have the HYbrid4 diesel hybrid technology, providing improved performance and an extremely low Co2 figure of just 99g/km. The HYbrid4 system has a diesel engine connected to an electric motor, which delivers a combined 200bhp and four-wheel drive capability.
