New engine for Vauxhall VXR8
Vauxhall's VXR8 now has a new engine, which brings more power and performance to the saloon.
The 6.2-litre V8, known as the LS3, replaces the old 6.0-litre LS2 unit and has 425bhp, 14 more than the old engine. As a result, the 0-60mph time on models with automatic transmission drops from 5.0 to 4.9 seconds, while in-gear acceleration times for the manual-gearbox cars are also shorter: 50-70mph in third gear drops from 2.8 to 2.6 seconds, while 30-50mph in second gear is down from 2.0 to 1.9 seconds. However, despite these improvements, the new engine returns the same fuel economy as the old engine.
At the same time, there is the option of a new body colour, Heron White, and buyers can also specify 20-inch wheels for the first time.
