The new sporty Kia Picanto three door has been awarded the coveted iF product design award for 2012.
Kia’s Chief Design Officer, Peter Schreyer said “receiving the iF product design award for the new Kia Picanto is a great success for our design team and it is welcome recognition of our brand’s design-oriented strategy. The second generation Picanto displays a very purposeful, self-assured design, and its sportiness is particularly underscored by the three-door version.”
The Kia Picanto boasts bold and dynamic styling, high-quality interior fittings and a host of class-leading features. It is specifically aimed at the steadily increasing number of discerning consumers wishing to ‘downsize’ to a smaller car.
All versions have electronic stability control (ESC), anti-lock brakes (ABS), electronic brake-force distribution (EBD) to apportion stopping effort to the wheels with most traction, and emergency brake assist system (BAS), ensuring maximum stopping power regardless of the pressure applied to the pedal by the driver. Prices start from £7795 and due to the 99g/km co2 emissions VED and congestion charge is exempt.
