The new Kia Picanto is 40mm longer and features a new front end with a redesigned front grille. The teardrop shaped headlamps are more rounded and new audio equipment and power steering have been added.
Inside the cabin in the Kia Picanto higher quality plastics have been used and a revised layout is an improvement and there is now an adaptor provided for an MP3 player. The interior will be available in five new colours alongside nine exterior colours.
The Kia Picanto is available with a 1.0 or 1.1 engine the 1.1 is the only model available with the four speed automatic gearbox. The 1.0 is capable of 0-60mph in 16.4 seconds and reaches a top speed of 93mph the 1.1 tops up to 96mph and 0-60 a bit less at 15.2 seconds. It is the economy of the Kia Picanto which is more appealing than the speed as the car averages at 55.4mpg.
Prices start from around the £6,000 mark and most Kia Picantos are fitted with electric windows and mirrors with remote central locking for all four doors and the tailgate. The sporty Kia Picanto 3 features a mesh grille, fog lamps and 15" alloy wheels.
