The new Volkswagen Golf R will hit the showrooms in December. It has been reported that this model is the quickest accelerating production Golf that Volkswagen has ever made.
The Volkswagen Golf R can achieve 0.62mph in 5.5 seconds and is capable of a top speed of 155mph. The 2.0 litre turbocharged engine has 266 bhp and there is a six speed DSG twin clutch gearbox to deal with the impressive engine power. Running costs for the new Volkswagen Golf R appear to be affordable with emissions of 199g/km and 33.3mpg.
The Volkswagen Golf R looks different than any other in the range; it has deeper front and rear bumpers, LED daytime running lights and 18inch alloy wheels. At the rear are twin exhaust pipes, inside the Volkswagen Golf R there are unique sports seats finished in Alacantra grey and black mesh fabric and on the dash the dials have been given electric blue needles. The price of the Volkswagen Golf R has yet to be announced but no doubt it will be priced competitively.
