How far can a Nissan Qashqai go on one tank of fuel?
The length of the UK, and then some, apparently. Seven test drivers from Nissan Technical Centre Europe (NTCE) went on a lengthy road trip in a 1.5dCi Qashqai from Lands End to John O'Groats, without once needing to stop to refuel.
The trip, which began at 6am on 25 September, saw the Qashqai average 67.35mpg (compared to a quoted 52.3mpg) across the 867 mile route. The finish line was reached at 17.30 the following day, with seven litres of fuel left - enough to cover a further 110 miles.
Nissan say Qashqai owners would be able to repeat the journey, with the same results. The test used a standard Qashqai model and speed limits were adhered to with a steady 60 mph for motorways. During the run the Qashqai averaged just 111g/km of CO2, compared with its brochure figure of 145g/km.
