The Vauxhall Insignia VXR has a turbocharged 2.8-litre V6 engine plus adaptive four wheel drive and bespoke chassis settings. The engine features a twin-scroll turbocharger and variable valve timing technology as well as a number of light alloy components designed to reduce weight. In the Vauxhall Insignia VXR, however, the power output is upped by 64bhp to 325PS and that makes 0-60mph in 5.6 seconds a real possibility. Top speed on the Vauxhall Insignia VXR is limited to 155 mph.
The Vauxhall Insignia VXR sits 10mm lower than standard models, with deep bumpers and side skits. The distinctive chrome ringed vertical air-intakes at the front are echoed by vast twin exhausts built into the bodywork at the rear. The standard wheels are 19" items but these can be upgraded to 20". The interior of the Vauxhall Insignia VXR is a strong point with Recaro sports seats and unique cabin trim and a chunky flat bottomed sports steering wheel.
