The sQuba is the world's first car that can be driven both on land and under water, and is developed by Swiss company Rinspeed.

The sQuba is a zero-emission electric vehicle which uses 3 electric motors, one is used on land and the other two are used for water. On land the vehicle utilises rechargeable lithium-ion batteries to power its electric rear-wheel drive powertrain which produce a top speed of 75mph.

On water the sQuba interior is flooded to submerge the vehicle up to a depth of 10 metres. In water the vehicle is used like a submarine rather than a boat, and is powered by twin electric-powered propellers supplemented by two Seabob water jets, giving it a underwater top speed of 1.6Kn.

The original idea for the sQuba was by the by Rinspeed founder Frank M. Rinderknecht who was inspired by the Lotus Esprit in the 1977 James Bond film - The Spy Who Loved Me.
