Skoda Auto’s total sales grew by 7.1% last year compared with 2007, this due primarily to the markets in China and Eastern Europe. The fastest growing market was Russia where the company sold 50,733 vehicles; Germany remains Skoda Auto’s strongest market in Western Europe.
Skoda UK achieved a record market share in 2008 with an increase to 1.75% despite the current market climate and the 11% market fall.
Skoda’s best selling model in 2008 was the Octavia with the runner up being the Skoda Fabia. The company believe that the Fabia will grow in popularity worldwide as the demand for small cars and environmental awareness increases.
