Fiat has reintroduced its sporty Abarth brand with a new version of the 500. There are a huge array of styling options including racing style stripes and stickers. It is available in both standard trim and in esseesse (SS) form. The regular model is well equipped, with air-conditioning, electric front windows, seven airbags, electrically adjustable body coloured door mirrors, 16-inch alloy wheels, an Interscope sound system with radio, CD and MP3 file player, and Fiat's innovative and unique Blue&Me hands-free communication system.
It delivers 33.2mpg on the official EU Urban cycle and 43.4mpg combined with CO2 emissions of 155g/km. It has a top speed of 128mph and is capable of 0.62mph in 7.9 seconds, if you spend an additional £2500 on the ‘Esseesse’ upgrade the power then changes to a blistering 158bhp and shaves half a second off the 0.62mph time.
There are optional extras such as 17-inch wheels, leather interior, and automatic climate control and satellite navigation. The Fiat prices range from £8100 to £13,600 and this new sport version is on sale now.
