The Peugeot 5008 has a new sharper face and a more chiselled and shapely rear that gives it a more dynamic and sleeker shape. Five adults have ample room if they are sitting in the front two rows and the three seats in the second row slide back and forth individually while each seat is broad enough to take a child seat. When the Peugeot 5008 has seven on board the boot is big enough for a few bags of shopping, if you fold the rear seats flat there is a luggage capacity of approximately 1754 litres.
There are a variety of engines available when considering the Peugeot 5008. The 1.6-litre HDi has 110bhp and is offered with a choice of six-speed manual or the 6-speed robotised automatic. With the 2.0-litre HDi, there’s a conventional automatic option supplementing the manual but the two gearboxes come with different power outputs. Manual customers have to make do with 150bhp while the auto model’s engine is upgraded to 163bhp. On the petrol front, there’s a 1.6-litre VTi unit with 120bhp or the156bhp 1.6. The turbo versions of both the petrol and diesel also get Peugeots dynamic roll control system that boosts its cornering capabilities even more. The turbo diesels are quick and excellent on fuel economy ranging from 53mpg for the smaller engine and 41.5mpg for the two litre version.
