Toyota have introduced two more engines for the Toyota Avensis saloon, the range will now include a 1.6 litre Valvematic and a 2.2 litre clean diesel. The Japanese car makers say the new engines for the Avensis will increase fuel efficiency and emissions performance.
The 1.6 Valvematic delivers 130bhp and returns 43.5mpg on the combined cycle with co2 emissions of 152g/km. The Toyota Avensis will be capable of 0.62mph in 10.4 seconds with this new engine and six speed manual. The 2.2 D-CAT 150 is Toyotas first diesel automatic passenger car, with the clean diesel technology it emits 169g/km of carbon dioxide and returns 44.1mpg on the combined cycle
As well as adding the 1.6 Valvematic petrol and 2.2 D-CAT 150bhp diesel, it has also made its 1.8 Valvematic available with both six-speed manual and Multidrive S transmissions. The 1.8 Valvematic is now available in T2, TR and T4 saloon and tourer models with manual or Multidrive S transmissions. Prices for the Toyota Avensis start at £16,085 (1.6 Valvematic T2 saloon).
