The new Volkswagen Golf GTI has been transformed into a sportier version. A few small changes such as a high gloss honeycomb grille and 17 in alloy wheels plus a lowered suspension improve the already classy Golf. At the rear there is a roof spoiler, twin exhausts and a re-designed bumper.
The interior has also been updated with tartan check cloth sport seats with the GTI logo, drilled aluminium pedals, carbon fibre trim and impressive instrument graphics.
The new improved GTI is more economical on fuel up from 35mpg to 38.7mpg. The two litre turbo charge petrol is capable of 0 to 62 mph in 6.98 seconds and adds an extra 2mph to the top speed at 149mph.
The car will go on sale around May 22nd. Prices range from £22,410 for the three door manual to £24,300 for the five doors with DSG gearbox. The DSG has a price premium of £1300 but is well worth the extra.
