The Volkswagen Jetta Sport 2.0 TDI DSG took the top honour in its class and went on to be voted overall winner of the 30th Caravan Club Towcar of the Year Competition for the second year in a row. It was judged the winner by a panel of ten judges for its suave design and its practicality as a caravanning family car.
The Volkswagen Jetta is slightly bigger than the car it replaced which has increased the rear legroom. All new Jettas are fitted with air conditioning, an MP3 compatible CD stereo, six airbags, ABS, Electronic Stabilisation Programme (ESP), an alarm and folding rear seats. The Volkswagen Jetta diesel range starts with a highly efficient 1.6-litre TDI engine developing 105 PS. Equipped with BlueMotion Technology features including Start/Stop and battery regeneration as standard, it’s capable of achieving 67.3 mpg on the combined cycle while emitting just 109 g/km of CO2.
Grenville Chamberlain, Caravan Club Chairman, commented, “The Club extends its congratulations to all the winners in this Competition. Special plaudits go to the terrific Volkswagen Jetta, it really is a great vehicle and it proved itself time and time again with the judges during testing.”
