Star striker Wayne Rooney celebrated his 24th birthday last weekend and didn’t add another car to his collection! The striker has had more than twenty cars totaling approximately 1.4 million. His latest runaround is an Audi RS6 Avant which is very different to the Ford Sportka he drove as a fresh faced seventeen year old. He moved on to a Volkswagen Golf which he gave to his brother-in-law which is incidentally currently for sale.

Wayne Rooney has proved to be an enthusiastic collector of cars and his wife has also splashed out, four years ago she bought an Aston Martin Vanquish to add to Rooney’s collection. He returned the gesture and bought a Porsche 911 for his wife for her birthday. Other cars in his collection include a BMW X5, Mercedes CLK, Cadillac Escalade, a Chrysler 300C, a Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder and an Audi TT. But the maddest and most original of Rooney’s off-road fleet was his Mercedes G55 AMG. Costing around £100,000 new, the Mercedes G55 was powered by a supercharged 5.4-litre engine which develops 476bhp and 516lb/ft of pulling power. This meant the German 4x4 could accelerate from 0-62mph in 5.6 seconds.

Father to be Wayne Rooney added the Audi RS6 Avant probably looking for a family estate, except this is no ordinary estate; it is powered by a 5-litre V10 engine developing 572bhp. The car can accelerate form 0-62mph in 4.6 seconds and has a top speed of 155mph. Obviously one family car won’t be enough so Rooney has also acquired a BMW X6 SUV capable of 282bhp and 147mph.
