A unique chance to win a brand new Morgan sports car in a raffle is currently on offer. Twenty thousand tickets are being sold at £5 each with the holder of the winning ticket claiming the Morgan 4/4 worth £30,000.
The cash from this raffle will go towards refurbishing the 18th century Croome Court near Pershore, Worcestershire which is undergoing an extensive £4.8 million restoration at the hands of the National Trust. It is hoped that the auction for the car will raise approximately £100,000.
The fundraising idea came from Lord and Lady Howard Flight who fell in love with the magnificent property after attempting to purchase it. They withdrew their offer when the full extent of the repairs became apparent. They agreed to help with the fundraising and Lord Flight said "we had already put a lot of time into Croome Court. We couldn't just walk away from it.”
The Morgan 4/4 was donated to the cause by Charles Morgan, head of the Malvern-based sports car company, after he was approached by Lady Flight. Tickets for the raffle are on sale for £5 until May 31st. Further details are available on the National Trust website.
