The new Volvo S60 has a svelte and sharp body brimming with technology. The all-new Volvo S60 is a four-door coupe, it is sportier and more distinct than any previous Volvo and it promises excellent driving dynamics in its design. There is a choice of two diesels and one petrol engine. Starting from £23,295 on-the-road, this is the most exciting car that Volvo has ever created.
The all-new Volvo S60 features the ground-breaking Pedestrian Detection with Full Auto Brake system. Pedestrian Detection consists of a newly developed radar unit integrated into the car's grille, a camera fitted in front of the interior rear-view mirror, and a central control unit. The radar's task is to detect any object in front of the car and to determine the distance to it. The camera's role is to determine what type of object it is. The full auto brake part of the technology also responds to vehicles in front of the Volvo S60 that are at a standstill or moving in the same direction.
A DRIVe version of the new Volvo S60 powered by a 1.6 litre diesel engine with co2 emissions of 115g/km and fuel economy of up to 65.7 mpg will join this range later in 2011.
