Shockingly.... King Henry VIII has a Ford S-Max 1.6 Eco Boost Zetec. But why? He loves the fact is has seven seats, for starters, as they enable him to take 'all' his wives to the seaside. It also has a 285-litre boot - which is comparable to a Ford Fiesta - so Henry can pack his executioner's axe too. Marrying the King of England is clearly risky. Furthermore, if Henry 'loses' a few ladies during the trip he can fold the rear seats flat to increase cargo capacity to 2,000-litres. That is larger than the monstrous Mercedes-Benz E-Class Estate. The King's transport also has surprisingly sharp handing, a comfy ride, and decent styling.

The Ford S-Max 1.6 Eco Boost has reasonable running costs considering it is the entry- level version, and large. As such, this mile-muncher averages 40.4mpg, returns 49.6mpg on the extra-urban cycle, and can be taxed for £165. At least Henry VIII will not have to raise taxes to pay for it. This workhorse has a fair turn of speed too, so its 160PS petrol engine propels Henry's axe to 62mph in 9.8 seconds. Gadgets include: climate control, parking sensors, Bluetooth, and MP3 compatibility. All for £22,295. Fit for a King, perhaps?
