Audi are to launch a Limited Edition R8 to celebrate its 10th victory at Le Mans.

Audi are to launch a Limited Edition R8 to celebrate its 10th victory at Le Mans. Audi have said it will make only 100 of the Limited Edition cars, and they will go on sale next month.

The Limited Edition R8 will only be available with the 424bhp V8 engine, but buyers will have the choice of 2 transmissions, a six-speed manual and Audi’s R-tronic automated manual. Audi have also said that they will make the Limited Edition as a hard top only.

The interior of the car will get red detailing and a few extra toys that would normally be optional extras, like satellite navigation, Audi Music Interface (AMI) a Bang and Olufsen sound system, an interior light package, bluetooth connectivity and seatbelt-mounted microphones. The exterior gets new titanium alloy wheels with red brake calipers, carbon fibre detailing, an exclusive titanium-effect paint and Audi’s magnetic ride system which monitors the road surface and adjusts the damping to suit the conditions.

Audi say the new Limited Edition R8 will only be available to UK customers and, and will set potential owners back a price of £93,935.
