The new BMW 6 Series Convertible offers a choice of two engines, a 3.0 litre turbo known as the 640i and a 4.4 litre twin turbocharged V8 badged 650i. This V8 engine is capable of 0-62mph in five seconds and can reach 155mph electronically limited top speed. With an average fuel consumption figure of just 26.4mpg and CO2 emissions of 249g/km, the BMW 6 Convertible Series won’t be a cheap car to run.
Opening the new BMW 6 Series Convertible couldn’t be easier with a simple push of the transmission tunnel mounted switch dropping the top in just nineteen seconds. It’s possible to open and close the fabric roof on the move too, so long as you’re doing no more than 25mph.
Optional Adaptive Drive adds electronically controlled dampers and roll stabilisation to the already impressive Dynamic Drive Control system. With it the BMW 6 Series Convertible can be set up how you like it: a simple push of a button allows you to choose from a variety of sporting, or comfort settings. Standard equipment levels are high, with 19-inch alloy wheels, electrically adjusted and heated leather seats and dual-zone climate control.
