The Citroen C1 Connexion could have been called the Citroen C1 Facebook. Why? Because this Special Edition has been created via an application running on the social networking site. This enabled city car lovers – via a “virtual factory floor” - to define the look and features of the car. There were twenty-four thousand combinations, the most popular of which is now available in three/five-door forms. These cost £9,495 and £9,845, respectively.

Marc Raven, Citroen’s Communications Director, revealed; “Citroen UK has a great relationship with its Facebook community - now almost 100,000 strong - and we’re always looking to give something back with exclusive news or competitions. Now Citroën fans can look forward to seeing this Special Edition C1, which they helped produce, on sale across the UK. I think that’s something they can be very proud of.”

The Citroen C1 Connexion is based on the VTR but has numerous fantastic extras. These include fourteen-inch alloy wheels, tinted rear windows, and black metallic paint. Can we click “like” for that lot? This complements its red door mirrors, handles, and number plate surrounds. The cabin feels special too thanks to its red instruments, gear lever, centre console, and various other touches. As with every C1, power comes courtesy of a 1.0-litre 67bhp three-cylinder petrol engine. That propels this Facebook fan to 62mph in a pleasing 12.3 seconds, and averages a fantastic 65.7mpg. Who says Facebook is a “waste of time”?
