The new Fiat Panda is easier to understand than an episode of Play School. As such, there are only three simple trim levels – the: Pop, Easy, and Lounge. Every model has: numerous air-bags, electric front windows, and a radio/CD/MP3 player. How simple is that? The mid-spec Easy adds air-con and alloy wheels – among other things – and the top-of-the-range Lounge also has: cruise control, front fog lights, and an electric sunroof. Even the village idiot can follow that lot. Furthermore, this run-around is available in the sportier GBT guise, which is based on the mid-spec Easy. That is it. What a refreshing change. Some line-ups are so complex that only brain-boxes understand their intricacies.

The new Fiat Panda's styling is pleasingly simple too. It is easily recognisable as an evolution of the previous model, but the new body-coloured bumpers and exterior colours keep it fresh. Brit Pop Blue, Tango Red, and Underground Grey are the latest choices. The interior has evolved too, so motorists can now park themselves on 'sportier' seat fabrics as they admire the refreshed dashboard. The safe handling, fuel efficient engines, spacious cabin, and decent ride complete this no-nonsense package. Prices range from £9,990 to an easy to follow £14,500. If only everything in life was as simple as the Panda.
