The all-new Kia cee'd is here... but before we take a peek let us first pay homage to its predecessor. The original cee'd elevated its manufacturer to the mainstream. No more jokes. No more laughing. Kia had proved it could produce excellent cars. As such, 430,000 of these Ford Focus rivals have been sold in Western Europe. It was even chosen by BBC Television's Top Gear for their 'Star in a Reasonably Priced Car' section. As such, numerous celebrities benefited from the composed handling, excellent build quality, and pleasing equipment specification. What an achievement, considering this car has one of the strangest names in motoring. It is 'cee'd' with a small 'c' and apostrophe, please. Why?

The new Kia cee'd looks sharper than the version that entertains Top Gear fans. The 'tiger nose' grill, LED running lights, and bulging bonnet ensure that. This five-door workhorse is also available with refined petrol and diesel engines, with outputs ranging from 90PS to 135PS. The most efficient averages around 76mpg, with emissions of 97g/km. Great, free road tax. This complements its cargo capacity which has grown from 340 to 380-litres. That is impressive for the class. Various toys make an appearance too, including a lane departure warning system and variable rate power steering. The latter enables motorists to manually change the feel of the steering. Nice car then. I reckon the Top Gear boys love it.
