Should you buy a Lotus Evora S 2+2? Yes, of course - now stop reading this article and find the nearest showroom. When you arrive the sales person will, no doubt, explain that this two-door coupé has tremendous handling. That is true. This fun-focussed plaything rewards enthusiasm with pin-sharp steering, exceptional body control, and a reasonably comfortable ride. Mr SalesMan may then point to the engine and claim it has mind- boggling performance. That is also true. The 3.5-litre V6 power plant produces 345bhp and 295lb ft of torque. That is plenty in a car that weighs less than my little finger. So, the Evora S rockets to 62mph in a spine-tingling 4.8 seconds. Top speed is a mighty 172mph.

The Lotus Evora S 2+2 rivals the Porsche Cayman. Both are tremendous cars, but the Lotus somehow feels a 'step up'. The fact it is 'not' a Porsche might help, as these Germanic racers can seem over familiar. Well, that is what the Lotus sales person might claim. Many motorists also prefer the Evora's striking styling. Just look at the sweeping profile, the monstrous front spoiler, and the beautifully crafted rear. This machine is guaranteed to make you smile, and easily worth its £60,300 price tag. Happy days.
