Good and bad news folks. The new Mazda MX5 Venture Edition is the perfect summer companion. The bad news, however, is that this sports car has been released when the weather is still frostier than a snowman's appendages. That hardly inspires motorists to buy convertibles, hence prices tend to fall in the winter. As such, this open-top sports car needs to be biblically impressive to tempt buyers away from their warm and comfortable hatchbacks. Guess what? As is always the case with the MX5 – it is. This special edition comes in two guises, the 1.8 MZR Soft-top and the 2.0 MZR Roadster Coupé Sport Tech. These are based on the SE and Sport Tech respectively - but have various enhancements.

The Venture Edition trim, for starters, has luxurious heated leather seats. These keep cold away from your vital parts – and complement the leather steering wheel and hand brake. Very nice too. This high-spec Mazda MX5 also has cruise control, alloy peddles, automatic air-conditioning, and satellite navigation. All this is wrapped-up warm in three exterior colours: Metropolitan Grey Mica, Radiant Ebony Mica, and Crystal White Pearlescent. The final two are exclusive to this trim. Inevitably, this beauty also has tremendous handling, rock-solid build, and a fashionable image. Prices start at only £18,995, so best order before your snowman melts as only a few hundred are reserved for the UK. Roll on spring.
