The new Mercedes-Benz C-Class will have a new generation of telematics to make life more convenient for upwardly mobile motorists. Major features include easy to read large colour displays, telephone transfer directory, SMS message display, a USB interface, and wireless music reproduction via Bluetooth. Perhaps it can also spilt the atom?

The new Mercedes-Benz C-Class, which is due in March 2011, will also be available with the COMMAND Online system that provides internet access via a mobile phone connection. This allows motorists to surf freely while the vehicle is stationary, and enables access to Mercedes-Benz's online services. These latter pages, which can be accessed while moving, include weather information and Google based map services.

For example, technology loving motorists can connect to Google to find destinations, and view a route that has been previously configured on PC and sent to the vehicle. These can then be recorded and repeated later. These witchcraft based telematics can also establish four route options, one of which should be the most economical in terms of fuel.

The new Mercedes-Benz C-Class' telematics indicate that this compact executive vehicle will be a considerable step forwards on the outgoing model. As it frequently the case with MB, it should also handle beautifully and be more reliable than a Linux based operating system. Roll on March.
