Oh dear! The new Nissan Juke Nismo Concept is extremely over excited. This is 'noteworthy' as even the standard car's personality is energetic and feisty – so this pumped-up concept car looks slightly manic. That is what happens when Nismo – the hard-core performance wing of Nissan – 'enhances' everyday production cars. So, what are the differences? Most noteworthy is the styling, which looks like a cross between beach buggy and excited child in fancy dress. As such it has new bumpers, fenders, skirts, and wing mirrors. The purpose of these aerodynamic tweaks is to reduce 'lift' without increasing drag. The vehicle is finished in pearl white paintwork with striking flashes of red.

"The global sales success of Nissan Juke has proved beyond doubt that customers are looking for something different," said Andy Palmer, Executive Vice President, Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. "The Juke Nismo Concept takes that idea to the next level. It's energetic, distinctive and highly desirable."

The Nissan Juke Nismo Concept has a few more tricks under its in-your-face skin. The chassis - compared to its production siblings - is both lower and stiffer. This improves handling so it can snarl around corners with confidence. It also has larger nineteen-inch alloy wheels for superior traction, and the 1.6-litre petrol engine has more poke. The interior has been tweaked too, so the steering wheel, peddles, gauges, gear lever, and seats demand attention. What a fun-focussed car - it reminds me of a playful Jack Russell.
