Like Arnold Schwarzenegger's Terminator... the SEAT Toledo is back. This machine was a familiar sight in the nineties, but the last version vanished from the UK in 2008. Perhaps John Connor killed it. Either way, the new version will 'be back' in Spain and Portugal from November 2012, then leapfrog to the United Kingdom in the first part of 2013. From there it will - hopefully without any violence or time travel – move to Germany, Mexico, and Turkey.

As we are months from its launch most of the other details are sketchy. However, we know the new SEAT Toledo is a Ford Focus rival that claims to be 'excellent value for money'. Skynet's reports also suggest it has a very large hatchback boot, mixed with sleek saloon styling. This Terminator should also be even more robust than Arnold, as SEAT is part of the VW Group. Its workers would rather surrender to the TX than produce unreliable cars.

The new SEAT Toledo is powered by various 1.2-litre and 1.4-litre petrol engines, which produce between 75 and 122PS. What a relief, no explosive Terminator power cells. There is also a 105PS 1.6-litre diesel, with a 90PS trim expected. This may have emissions of less than 100g/km, making it eligible for free road tax. What a contrast to the gas-guzzling Terminator. We also expect the new Toledo to have respectable handling, and one time travelling robot said that every model should be well equipped. Does Arnold have air-con?
