Question... what is the SKODA Yeti Urban? Answer... extremely confusing. Normally, you see, a highly specified trim level costs more than a modest one. Not here. As such, the Yeti Urban has more toys than the SE on which it is based – but costs less. Want proof. The Yeti SE 1.2 TSI has a list price of £17,105. The Yeti Urban 1.2 TSI, in contrast, tips the scales at only £16,995 despite its extra toys. Also, the SE 2.0 TDI CR has a list price of £18,445 but the Urban 2.0 TDI CR only costs £18,335. These are the only engines available in the Urban, and are bolted to six/five-speed manual transmission respectively. And, unlike some Yetis, power is sent to the font wheels only. At least that is not confusing.

The SKODA Yeti Urban's extra toys are not as puzzling as its price. These include: wheel arch extensions, metallic paint, seventeen-inch dark alloys, chrome side strips, silver roof bars, sports seats, fancy door mirrors, and satellite navigation. These complement the memorable looks, confidence inspiring handling, fashionable image, and large boot. Capacity, in fact, is 416-litres rising to 1,760-litres when the rear seats are folded flat. This confusing concoction, therefore, has a larger maximum storage volume than a new Ford Mondeo Estate – and that is vast. This leaves one puzzle. Why is the Yeti Urban restricted to such a tiny production run? That is the biggest mystery of the day. Best order soon then.
