The Toyota Aygo Fire is hot stuff. It looks even hotter finished in Burnt Orange paint, with its matching side protection mouldings and interior trim. This complements the red-hot fourteen-inch alloys, front fog lights, LED running lights, leather steering wheel, and rev- counter. However, its rev-counter does not instinctively race north. This run-around is only powered by a 1.0-litre petrol engine and its main strength is environmental efficiency. As such, the Fire averages up to 65.7mpg and emissions are as low as 99g/km. That places this flame thrower in road tax A/£0; making it exempt from the London Congestion Charge.

However, another of nature's greats is circling the fire station. This takes the cool refreshing form of the Toyota Aygo Ice - which focusses on comfort, entertainment, and connectivity. No flaming Burnt Orange paint, then. Compensation comes in the form of air- con, a high-spec four-speaker stereo system, Bluetooth, and the USB port. Both the Fire and Ice are available with the optional Xtraprotected Pack too. This includes: rear parking sensors, mud flaps, and a rear bumper protection plate. Fair enough - but please - never park the Aygo Ice next to the Aygo Fire on a warm day. It might melt and put-out its sibling.
