Indiana Jones loves his Nissan Qashqai+2. His top-of-the-range 2.0 dCi Tekna auto has four-wheel-drive, after all, so the antiques collector can 'go anywhere'. It also has composed handling and a smooth ride over tarmac, so cruising home with a boot full of collectables is a pleasant experience. And what a boot full. Cargo capacity is 450-litres; increasing to 1,520-litres with the rear seats folded flat. That is comparable to the Ford Focus Estate. However, if Jones' luggage is more flesh and blood than gold and silver – this workhorse has room for seven. But please, not that silly kid from The Temple of Doom.

However, there are a couple of irritations. The Nissan Qashqai+2 2.0 dCi Tekna sends 150bhp through its six-speed auto transmission. It, therefore, hits 62mph in 11.6 seconds. Whereas this is 'okay', more poke could be handy when the vehicle is heavily laden with relics. Escaping Germany is tough, after all. Furthermore, this high-end model only averages 39.8mpg, which is unremarkable for a diesel with modest acceleration. Perhaps Indiana would prefer the 1.6-litre dCi Tekna 2WD manual. This is faster and returns 60.1mpg. It costs £25,445 too, whereas Jones' cost £28,245. How much is a crystal skull?
