Oh dear! The Peugeot RCZ Asphalt is now available to order but.... by the time you finish reading this article – it might not be. This 'limited edition' trim is restricted to a right-hand- drive production run of seventy-five. The word 'exclusive' springs to mind. As this two-door beauty is notoriously popular, there must be no shortage of motorists keen to write cheques for £29,995. Granted, this is a lot of money for a Peugeot – but the RCZ is far from ordinary.

The Peugeot RCZ Asphalt Limited Edition is clearly even more special than its illustrious siblings. For starters, it is only available in one colour – imposing matt grey. It also has a black roof, plus nineteen-inch dark alloy wheels with matching callipers. The striking interior is extra special too. Enhancements include the: Asphalt branded leather trim, upgraded steering wheel and gear stick, plus bespoke sill covers and mats. It certainly looks fantastic.

Under the bonnet sits a 1.6-litre four-cylinder petrol engine. This 200bhp machine races to 62mph in 7.6 seconds and is capable of an impressive 146mph. It can average 40.9mpg too, and its carbon emissions are a sensibly low 159g/km. Pretty impressive figures, but is this model worth the premium? The Asphalt costs roughly £4,000 more than the RCZ GT trim, that has the same engine and performance. Depends how much you crave exclusivity.
