Police appeal for witnesses after man punches woman in road rage incident

Police have asked for help in identifying a grey haired male who punched a woman in the face in an apparent road rage incident on the A1.

The man was said to have been driving erratically through the village of Long Bennington, before stopping his car and forcing those behind him to stop too.

He then exchanged words with the woman before apparently punching her in the face and driving off towards Grantham.

Police have released an image of the male driver and his reg plate in an appeal for witnesses.

He was described as being white, in his late 60s to early 70s, around 5’3 tall and of medium build.

A spokesperson for the force said: "We are appealing for witnesses and dash cam footage after an alleged assault on the A1 at Great North Road, Long Bennington. We believe the male pictured may be able to help us with our enquiries.

"If you know him or where he might be, or recognise the vehicle, please get in touch."

The alleged assault took place at roughly 11.30am last Wednesday.
