10. MG14/28
Even now, MG enthusiasts continue to discuss the brand's beginnings and which cars truly mark its origins. However, it's clear that the 14/28 was the first MG to be mass-produced in significant numbers.
The 14/28 was offered as an open tourer (with either two or four seats) and as a coupé, setting the precedent for MG as a distinct brand separate from its Morris roots.
9. MGA
The MGA marked a significant commercial triumph for MG, symbolising a new era for the brand when it debuted in the mid-1950s, as reflected in its name.
Upon its release, the roadster's sleek design earned immediate acclaim, and it was quickly accompanied in showrooms by a hard-top coupé variant. Numerous MGAs were produced for export, with the American market especially enamoured by its contemporary styling, innovative features, and the performance delivered by its 72bhp, 1.5-liter engine.
8. MG Midget
The Midget stands out as one of the timeless and iconic affordable sports cars in automotive history. With over 220,000 units sold across four generations spanning 18 years, its enduring popularity is evident.
