Other people have said JC Cars are very unassuming and pleasant to deal with. In my case maybe they were too quiet, and decided to get rid of a bad car without saying anything. One thing I would say - make sure absolutely everything works before you buy, because it's up to you to find out if the car has any faults. I bought a top of the range Golf with low mileage and service history in September 2023. It had a few minor issues which JC Cars were willing to put right. Unfortunately several return journeys were required when other problems surfaced which indicated the car had not been well maintained. I went to an independent VW dealer because one of the issues was heavy black exhaust smoke which I did not notice during the test drive. I was informed the dpf filter had been removed because the car had been remapped. JC Cars sold me a 6 month RAC warranty for £200. The car required a rear O/S brake caliper and discs and pads in November, and now requires a N/S brake caliper and timing belt change due to worn tensioners. The warranty company will not pay because diagnostics show the car has been remapped. JC Cars sold me a remapped car and then sold me a 6 month warranty which was worthless from day one. I have also been advised there is evidence this car has been in a front end collision and accident repaired. Because of the faulty N/S brake caliper I had to pay for another new set of discs and pads. I was hoping JC Cars would take some responsibility in these circumstances, but they have ignored my text messages. I hope they can sleep easy at night because what goes around comes around.

As other people have said JC Cars are very unassuming and pleasant to deal with. In my case I think they were maybe too quiet, and could have told me a bit more about the car before I bought it. One thing I would say - make sure everything works before you buy, and I mean everything. Take a mechanic with you, because it's up to you to find out if the car has any faults. I bought a top of the range Golf with low mileage and service history for £15k in October 2023. It had a few minor issues which JC Cars were willing to put right. Unfortunately several return journeys were required when some other problems surfaced which indicated the car had not been well maintained. I was told it would be 4 weeks before the latest fault could be looked at. To be fair, JC Cars sell vehicles from their home address and don't own the local garage they use for repairs. However, it made me feel there was no sense of urgency or priority in fixing faults once you had bought the car. I went to an independent VW dealer because one of the issues was heavy black exhaust smoke which I did not notice during the test drive. I was informed the dpf filter had been removed because the car had been remapped. JC Cars sold me a 6 month RAC warranty for £200. The car required a new brake caliper in November, and now requires another brake caliper and timing belt change due to worn tensioners. The warranty company will not pay because diagnostics show the car has been remapped. I have informed JC Cars they sold me a remapped car and then sold me a 6 month warranty which was worthless from day one. Due to the circumstances I have asked if they can assist me with the cost. I look forward to their response and I hope to update this review soon with a positive outcome.
