Very disappointed! Went to look at an 05 plate Ford Focus with my wife on a Monday afternoon. Car was lovely, low mileage and in brilliant condition for age. Priced low and was ideal for our needs as we are elderly. I never rush into anything and told Peter (the salesman) that I wanted to sleep on it and I would get back to him within 24 hours one way or another. Peter told me that he had a lot of interest in the car and to be honest, I just thought it was salesman's talk to get me to rush into buying on the spot so did not leave a deposit even though he gave me the opportunity to do so!. I called back the following afternoon to say that we would take the car but unbelievably it had sold that morning to someone else! Needles to say my wife and I were very disappointed that we lost the car and as said, I thought he was just making it up about the interest he had in the car. We have now been looking for over a month and have found nothing that comes close to the condition and value of that Ford Focus that Peter was selling. I did not go back to buy an alternative car as I got quite upset on the phone when he told me the car had been sold and perhaps I was a little rude. As a consequence I am too embarrassed to go back and look at his other cars. But as Peter explained on the phone, I had not left a deposit so how could he turn another buyer away in the hope that I would return. He was right and by all accounts looking back, a very genuine and honest trader who offered us a nice, cheap car that we did not snap up. Recommend his cars as although inexpensive, seem to be good quality. Lastly, don't ask for discount, you won't get it, he sticks to his prices. Mr & Mrs Townsend.

Lost my job a few weeks ago and as a consequence also lost the company car. I was looking for a decent budget car that would do me for now. Looked at many, mostly bangers that really should have been going to the scrap yard however, I did persist in my search and luckily found Peter advertising some really decent, low cost cars that I thought much better than bangers. Purchased a Renault Clio 1.2 with 84000 miles on the clock and 6 months MOT. During the whole process I was not pressured at all but left to look over the car by myself and only when I was satisfied that the car was OK for the £995 that was being asked, did I take it on a test drive. I was a bit miffed that the seller would not budge on his price but actually on reflection I understand why. The car is a fantastic little run-around and has had no problems other than having to put a second hand tyre on it. I would buy again from this guy and highly recommend him if you are on a tight budget as I was. James.

Only had £600 to spend on a car, really fed up with looking at rust buckets. Purchased a Clio 1.2 from Peter Hopkins Cars Ltd for £595. Really happy, great little first car. Only had to change 2 tyres after owning the car for nearly a year. No aggressive sales, let me get on with looking at the car. Told all my mates about this place, it is really a god send that people like him still sell decent, cheap cars for a living. Hope he survives with all the big dealers around.

Seller works alone from a yard in the sticks but don't let that you off. When I was looking he had 15 really decent cars all under £1000. Looked at 3, bought 1 and very happy with it. Best thing about buying from this guy is that he does not stand over you over selling the car. He passed me the keys, went off for a fag and told me to give him a shout when I was ready which I did. He then took me on a test drive, when we got back he went off for anther fag and left me to discuss the car with the wife. When I told him I wanted to buy, he just shrugged his shoulders then told me to follow him in the office to fill out the paper work. We got the impression that he really would not have been bothered if we did not buy a car but he was a nice chap and likable.

Did not have a lot of money to spend but needed a reliable car. Dealer was a no nonsense person! To be honest, I got the impression that if I did not buy the car from him he really did not mind to much as I think he sells a lot from his small yard being cheap, reliable cars and several other customers turned up when I was with him. Polite, helpful and agreeable but would not discount the price as he said he advertises cars as low as he can go and that leaves him no room to discount. Stood firm on the price! I did not mind this because the car I purchased cost me just £900 and is excellent, very reliable and one of the best cheap cars I have ever had. The dealer was very decent and I would buy again from him. It was like a breath of fresh air to actually speak to a non sales person, I would highly recommend.
