10. Peugeot 108
The Peugeot 108 is a city class vehicle that is easy to manoeuvre thanks to its compact proportions and tight turning circle. The Peugeot 208 is a supermini class vehicle. Like the 108, its purpose is to excel in town but this larger package is more flexible. It is, therefore, available with a wider range of engines such as the 1.0-litre 68hp petrol, 1.2-litre 110hp petrol and 1.6-litre 75hp diesel. It also comes in 3/5 door form with a 285-litre boot. A stand out strength is that - among other trims - the 1.6 THP 200 GTI Prestige hits 62mph in 6.5 seconds thanks to its 208hp engine. It is a genuine hot-hatch. The 208 costs £9,479 to £21,279.
8. Peugeot 308
The Peugeot 308 is a small, family class, vehicle. It is reasonably compact externally – so easy to manoeuvre in town – yet it has a spacious interior. These characteristics are its core strengths. The 308 is available in 5-door hatchback and SW (estate) form. The latter's cargo capacity is 660-litres rising to 1,775-litres with the rear seats folded flat. Very impressive. 7. Peugeot 508
The Peugeot 508 is an executive class saloon/estate that brings further prestige to the manufacturer's range. A core strength is the remarkable equipment specification that includes a head-up display that projects (say) vehicle speed onto the windscreen. It also has a reversing camera, key-less entry system, touch-screen interface, parking sensors and satellite navigation. Engines include the 1.6-litre 120hp diesel, 2.0-litre 180hp diesel and 2.0-litre 200hp hybrid. The 508 is also spacious and comfortable. 6. Peugeot RCZ
The Peugeot RCZ Coupé is a 2-door plaything with blistering performance. Its core strength is that it is thrilling and entertaining – particularly the “R” version which is the most powerful production car the manufacturer produces. Power comes courtesy of a 1.6-litre, 270hp, petrol engine that is teamed with 6-speed manual transmission. The combination propels this lifestyle statement to 62mph in 5.9 seconds. Top speed is 155mph. Some of the tamer trims have spirited performance too. The RCZ also has muscular styling, plenty of equipment and a sporty cabin that benefits from contrast stitching. 5. Peugeot 2008
The Peugeot 2008 is a crossover class vehicle so blends car-like handling with chunky, off-road, styling. Its core strength is that it is a capable all-rounder in an easy to manoeuvre, compact, package. The boot, for example, measures 360-litres rising to 1,194-litres with the rear seats folded flat. The 2008 also has room for 5 and numerous cubby holes. Furthermore, even the least efficient engine averages 57.6mpg (1.2-litre 82hp petrol) and the most efficient hits 78.5mpg (1.6-litre 99hp diesel). 4. Peugeot 3008
The Peugeot 3008 – like the smaller 2008 - is a crossover class vehicle. Strengths include its split tailgate that enables the motorist to use the lower part as a seat. Handy for (say) changing into muddy boots. Cargo capacity is 512-litres rising to 1,604 with the rear seats flat which is similar to an estate car. Engine options include the 1.2-litre, 130hp, petrol and the 2.0-litre, 200hp, diesel/electric hybrid. The 3008 also has a head-up display and satellite navigation. 3. Peugeot 5008
The Peugeot 5008 is a large multi-purpose class vehicle. Its core strength is that it has 7 seats that slide/fold to balance the needs of passengers and their luggage. Cargo capacity is 823-litres (rear seats up) rising to 2,506-litres (seats down). It is powered by a range of efficient engines including the 1.2-litre, 130hp, petrol and the 2.0-litre, 163hp, diesel. 2. Peugeot iOn
The Peugeot iOn is a fully electric, city class, vehicle. Its most creditable quality is that it does not emit carbon into the atmosphere at the point of use. The 64hp engine propels it from 18mph to 35mph in 3.5 seconds and range is up to 93 miles per-charge. This 5-door hatchback can be recharged in 9 hours via a standard socket and public ports “replace half the battery’s capacity in just 15 minutes”, the manufacturer says. Furthermore, should there be a collision this city car automatically calls the emergency services then relays its position. The iOn costs £26,216.
1. Peugeot Partner Tepee
The Peugeot Partner Tepee is a multi-purpose class vehicle with core strengths such as space and practicality. The van-style rear doors, for starters, make access to the rear seats easier in confined spaces such as car parks. Furthermore, it is available with 5 or 7 seats some of which can be removed to increase cargo capacity to 3,000-litres. That is vast – and volume never falls below 675-litres. Boot access comes by opening the tailgate or its rear window only. Engines include the 1.6-litre, 120hp, diesel and the vehicle has a touch-screen interface, reversing camera and parking sensors.
