Top 10 Cars Coming Soon
Christmas is here, but there are more exciting things to look forward to...
10. Ferrari GTC4lusso
Boasting a snarling 6.2litre V12 engine, this four-seat Ferrari is going to cause big upsets in the supercar market as well as the grand tourer market. This will be at the top of both segments. 680 horsepower is a lot of horsepower and 3.4 seconds to 60mph is not a lot of seconds. The GTC4Lusso also draws inspiration from the Tesla Model S as it features a massive 10.3 inch infotainment touch screen.
The GTC4Lusso is also the perfect car for off-roading and getting down to the shops in thick snow, thanks to the all-wheel-drive and all-wheel-steering. (Joking about the off-roading bit - bit it is very capable...) The GTC4Lusso is expected to arrive mid-2017, so not long until there’s one at a Sloane street near you!
9. SEAT Leon
The current shape of the Leon hasn’t been about for too long but there’s already a revised version lined up for 2017. This isn’t a whole new car but it features some slight changes to set itself apart from the one on sale in 2016. The most improvements come in the technology onboard. For example, the new Leon now comes with Blind Spot Assist, Traffic Jam Assist, Traffic Sign Recognition and High Beam Assist.
There’s also a new XCELLENCE trim level added to the range - above the current FR model. This trim level boasts ambient lighting, leather and alcantara details and other subtle cues which set it above the current top-trim.
8. Peugeot 3008
We took the new 3008 for a spin recently, you can read our full review here, and loved every minute. Peugeot are moving upmarket across their range and, while the prices are a bit steeper, the product is far superior to what we’re used to. We tested the outgoing 3008 not so long ago, and although it wasn’t a bad car as such, this new model is leagues ahead. We’d go as far as saying this might be the best looking SUV out of all its competitors? The order books have opened and deliveries are expected to begin around February 2017 - get in touch with your local dealer to make sure you’ve got one of the first models on the road.
7. Infiniti Q60
The long awaited Infiniti Q60 is due in 2017 and could prove to be a real turning point for the Infiniti brand which has come on leaps and bounds in recent years, particularly with the success of the Infiniti Q30 hatchback. This Q60 is a whole different beast and starts from around £33,000 mark. There will be two engines available, a 2.0litre petrol with 208bhp or a 3.0litre V6 twin-turbo petrol with 400bhp. Obviously, the latter will be the performer. The car sits with a sporty roofline and bold shoulders over the rear wheels and, as with all Infinitis, you can expect a luxurious interior to compliment the attractive exterior.
6. Mercedes Benz E63 S 4MATIC+ AMG
Brace yourselves, the most powerful E Class ever is coming! This new model will feature a new 4.0litre V8 twin turbocharged unit pushing out a massive 612 horsepower and 850 Nm of torque. Expect a 0-60 time of around 3.4 seconds, which is best in class for a business saloon. The new full-blown E class also uses the 4MATIC+ all-wheel-drive system which uses aerodynamics and traction to precisely apply power to the wheels that need it, meaning this is a capable car whatever the weather.
The car will go on sale from mid January 2017 with deliveries arriving from May.
5. Honda Civic
Another Civic is coming! The tenth generation of the Civic is due in 2017, yes, you heard that 10 generations! The exceptional sales performances have warranted another version of the tried and tested hatchback but it looks like they’ll be changing things quite a lot this time. The car looks almost saloon-like with 4 doors and a sloping rear-hatch. This new Civic will feature predominantly Turbocharged VTEC petrol engines which “have been developed specifically to deliver a powerful, engaging and efficient driving experience.”
Honda have also promised to continue keeping driver-assistance a priority, so rear cameras and a Sat Nav should hopefully be standard on the new model, like they are on the current one. Boot-space will also be class-leading, as it currently is, with 478litres of loading capacity.
4. Toyota C-HR
The Nissan Juke has been having a rather fun time at the top of its own little segment of ‘strangely attractive small hatchback that is actually more of a crossover.’ But now, finally, a suitable competitor in the completely unchallenged sector, the new Toyota C-HR. This is be an extremely efficient car with a bold exterior which is likely to divide opinion, much like the the Juke did. The C-HR shares a platform with the Prius while also sharing the same 1.8litre hybrid running system. No bad thing though, both the platform and hybrid engine are some of the most advanced in the market! All this doesn’t come cheap though, the entry level Icon model will start at £20,995 and the Top-Spec will be at £27,995. You’ll certainly make savings in running costs though!

3. Nissan Micra
This is a car that has previously been shunned as a vehicle for the elderly, for people who don’t like driving, for the ‘just getting from A to B’ types. Every teenager's nightmare was turning 17 and finding an old Micra on their drive with L plates on the back - it’s been considered a seriously uncool car. All that has changed. Nissan is coming out with the best looking Micra ever. They are claiming ‘The Revolution Has Begun’ as their 5th generation model is soon to hit the showrooms in January 2017. Unveiled at the Paris Motor Show, this new model ‘epitomises Nissan’s fresh approach to Micra.’ We like it, a lot.
2. Alfa Romeo Stelvio
Everyone is in the SUV market and making an absolute fortune at the moment thanks to a big shift in buyers habits over the last 10 years. Everyone except for Alfa Romeo, that is. Until now the quirky, sporty Italians have turned their noses at the SUV market as their cars have always been driver focussed - but one genius thought ‘let’s make an Alfa SUV that’s actually fun to drive.’ Enter, the Stelvio. It’s typically easy on the eye, as we’ve come to expect from Alfa, and also is likely to feature an extremely attractive interior, although the test mules have all been heavily disguised. Most drivers will opt for a 2.2litre diesel engine to power their Stelvio which will cost north of £35,000 brand new when it arrives in 2017.
1. Audi RS1
Prepare yourselves, the hottest supermini hatch is coming. Generally speaking, anything Audi puts an RS badge on tends to turn to gold. The RS1 will be based on the current A1 model but will feature the famous Quattro system, a load of aero-kit, bigger alloys, wider arches and an astronomical 280bhp - ish. We’re excited by this car because everything that it promises is currently unknown territory. This car will raise the bar to scary heights in this segment. The Fiesta ST, 208GTi, Ibiza Cupra, will all be put to shame, probably. Keep an eye on this one.
There’s no official photos of the RS1 yet, so you’ll just have to stare at the pretty picture of an S1 for now and twiddle your thumbs patiently!
