Careless driver flips car on busy road just moments after buying it

A driver in Chesterfield, Derbyshire, has drawn attention on social media for all of the wrong reasons after flipping his new car, having only just bought it.

According to the force, the newly bought vehicle had tyres that weren’t roadworthy and images certainly seem to back that up with the front right looking akin to slick tyre.

The driver escaped with only minor injuries and the officers involved at the scene have urged people to check their own tyres to make sure they don’t end up in the same position. Read our quick guide on how to do that here

The motorists may have escaped without injury but he didn’t quite escape without ridicule, with many Twitter users commenting on the accident. One wrote: "There has to be easier ways to check the underside for rust."

Another added: "I know the bulbs are hard to change on those but it's taking it a bit far to put it on its side to change them."
